Veteran hockey players to defend Grand Masters title

"Former 1975 World Cuppers like Datuk Poon Fook Loke, M. Mahendran and R. Patmarajah will represent Malaysia in the Grand Masters (above 60 years) competition in the Asian Cup hockey tournament in Hong Kong from Oct 29-Nov 3.

Malaysia are the defending champions, having won the inaugural tournament in Singapore in 2011. They beat Hong Kong 3-2 in the final.

Besides the Grand Masters competition, Malaysia will be also be competing in the Senior Masters event.

In the Senior Masters (above 50), Malaysia are powered by former internationals like Colin Sta Maria, James Murthy, Sarjit Singh, Louis Gregory, Inderjit Singh, Willaim Lazaroo, Derek Fedelis and Raymond Tio.

Malaysia are favourites to win both the Grand Masters and Seniors Masters titles."
